In the early seventies, Jan Piet is part of the first funk band in Amsterdam “Melvin Miracle Revue”; a twelve-man formation with horns and a vocal group, together with Jim Struijk, Mildred Douglas, Nippy Noya, Arthur Ebeling and Kim Haworth, among others.
